Potters’ Guild Prepares for upcoming Chili Bowl Bash

Here are some pictures of handcrafted bowls made for this year’s Chili Bowl Bash.

This selection has been made especially by Natalie Nyffeler for the event.

Natalie started potting taking beginner hand-building classes at the Guild in 2007. She has worked hard and persistence has paid off. Natalie has been experimenting, mixing different colour clays and using a variety of glaze, some of which she has made herself from scratch. You will notice also that Natalie has been carving on the outside of some of her bowls. She was reminded of the technique during a workshop with Jim Etzkorn earlier in the year.

Natalie has been instructing some children’s classes. She is moving away. Don’t miss this opportunity to acquire some of her work. The Guild is going to miss her.

This event is a major fund raiser for the guild. Funds will enable the continuation of classes at the guild and working space for members. Studio upkeep and equipment is expensive.  The Guild is supported by the Community Arts Council, both at the facility and in programming. The support is greatly appreciated. The studio is located in the Artspost building.

Buy a couple of tickets and bring a friend. The dinner is guaranteed to be delicious, the company good and the cause one of the best.

Note that the chili is prepared by members of the community who are vying for the privilege of having their name attached to the Chili bowl bash perpetual trophy.
