The Embodied Musician

THE ART OF PERFORMANCE WELLNESS

Performance Anxiety Workshop by Paula Wise

The North Peace Music Teachers’ Association is excited to host a workshop with Vancouver based Paula Wise who is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. She has extensive knowledge and experience working with people who suffer from anxiety on stage performances.

She has been a guest lecturer on performance wellness at many music departments including SUNY at Fredonia in New York State, UBC, VCC, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Capilano University as well as developed a course – The Embodied Performer – that uses mindfulness practices to ease stage fright. A professional musician herself for over 30 years, she understands the struggles musicians, actors and artists go through.
