Creative Hub Donation

CAC Creative Hub Building Fund Donation in memory of Carla Armstrong

The Fort St John Community Arts Council are pleased to announce the receipt of a generous donation from the Carla Armstrong Estate in the name of “Carla Armstrong” dedicated to the Building Fund for the future Creative Hub in Fort St John, a Creative Hub that will provide permanent space for artists and arts groups in Fort St John and area to hone their crafts.
Carla Armstrong was born and raised in Fort St John and loved to dance. In her youth she enjoyed traveling and working with horses and was a founding organizer for the Ride for the Disable. After completing an education degree, she taught for many years at the Charlie Lake School, teaching her primary school students the joy of dancing.
As an energetic, outgoing supporter of the arts, Carla delighted in attending community events where she would be the first person up dancing in the isles and encouraging others to join in the fun. She was an active member of the Flying Colours Artist Association, a juried member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) and a participating artist in the Peace River Chapter of FCA. Carla contributed to the learning and growing of the arts in Fort St John and through her legacy the arts will continue to thrive.
We honour her memory as the first donor to the Fort St John centre for the arts Creative Hub.
