The Dawson Creek Art Gallery presents and exhibition of The Peace River Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. The Peace River Chapter is a regional community of 44 professional and semi-professional artists who reside in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, Beaverlodge, Grande Prairie and surrounding communities. The exhibition is on display from January 7 to January 29.
The Peace River Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists is pleased to invite you to DIMENSIONS of REALITY opening at Peace Gallery North on May 2.
Reality can be literal, interpretive, external and internal, imagined or perceived. Therefore, in keeping with the theme, viewers will enjoy works ranging from photographic realism to impressionism, expressionism and abstraction. This themed exhibition will showcase nearly 45 works by approximately 16 artists using a wide diversity of media, including acrylics, oils, encaustics, and a variety of printmaking processes, making this a colorful and exciting viewing opportunity
The Peace River Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists presents “Peace Landscapes” The opening reception is on October 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Dawson Creek Arts Gallery. Everyone welcome.
The Peace River Chapter will hold a workshop on October 19, 20 and 21 with Teressa Bernard. Teressa teaches in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media while painting primarily in acrylic. Her work is widely collected internationally and locally and she has been the recipient of numberous awards. She served for five years as a member of the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Artists and is currently the Standards Chair. The Peace River Chapter FCA will be hosting a workshop in conjunction with our Peace Without Borders show. The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 27th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Beaverlodge, AB.
The workshop is entitled “How to Build a Painting- Why Paint a Painting?” and will be taught by Ken HouseGo, who teaches fine art at the Grande Prairie Regional College. His work can be found on his website at: www.kenhousego-studio.info.
The registration fee is $85.00 for Peace River Chapter members and $110 for non-members. Space is limited, please register early. Lunch will be catered by Soups in Beaverlodge.
